GMC Registry

Dave Greenberg is maintaining a registry of all known GMC motorhomes.  Here is a note from him explaining the Registry.

Hi,

If your Classic GMC coach hasn’t been registered or if you aren’t certain, send the TZE (VIN) number and model to me via email or regular mail and I will check it out.

I will need your address, including zip and area codes and any previous owner history, if you know. For a handy form go to http://www.gmcss.com/registry.htm, if you have internet access or use the form attached.

The Registry was founded in 1993 and the goal is to see where all the GMCs have gone. Of the 12,921 coaches produced by GM Truck & Coach between 1973 and 1978, we want to know:

    A. How many are alive and well and,

    B. Where in the world are they?

If you know of any that have been parted out or used to make a stretched coach or otherwise destroyed and IF you know the TZE number or last owner’s name, send in the information so I can account for missing coaches as well.

If like some lucky families, your family has more than one GMC send the info into the Registry.

If you know of any that are being used as ambulances, crime scene detection units, radio or tv broadcast studios, mobile blood banks, rolling libraries or as chicken coops, send in the TZE number, model, owner’s name and address and usage.

The Registry includes, TZE, Model, Owner’s name and address, area code, and any previous owner history. We also track manufacture dates in order to determine what changes were made during production. This date is usually found on the decal in the glove box or on a decal next to the driver’s seat.

The Registry is presently at over 6,000 GMCs in the computer and is growing at the rate of 2-3 new registrations per day thanks to the GMCnet and the GMC clubs around the USA. We have found GMCs in Australia, Europe and South America although the vast majority are living in North America.

By way of introduction, I am on my second GMC having purchased a new Palm Beach model in 1975. My current coach, a 1977 Eleganza II, has over 580,000 miles on it with over 300,000 miles on its second engine. I am on the Governing Board of Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) and a member of the Board of Directors of GMC Sunshine Statesmen Club in Florida and a member of GMC Motorhomes, International and GMC Western States.

The information in the Registry is held confidential and is not used for any commercial purpose.

There is no fee for this service-This is my contribution to the GMC Motorhome community

Thanks in advance-Hope to hear from you soon,

Dave
